The Bible Bowl Team is a group of young people ages 6 – 18, who love to learn, love to compete and love to travel, but most of all, we love the Lord. The team participates in Bible Quizzes, which encourage in-depth study of the Word of God.  These young people travel extensively to compete during the Annual Youth Conference and the COCHUSA National Conventions.

Children’s Church teaches God’s – chronology, doctrines, commandments, precepts – thus enabling God to shape the hearts and minds of children to become faithful disciples and develop personal relationships with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

The First Church Bible Institute Ministry is the Christian education arm of First Church.  The ministry is responsible for the offering and teaching of classes that will allow members of the congregation the opportunity to mature into disciples through following the curriculum for developing disciples.  Classes, workshops, seminars and retreats are offered through this ministry.

In keeping with the First Church Mission statement of Making Faithful Disciples, Maturing Faithful Disciples and Multiplying Faithful Disciples, we currently employ the MasterLife Discipleship Training Program as part of our educational and training arm. MasterLife is a sequential, developmental, small group process that helps Christians grow into mature disciples of Jesus Christ. According to the author, Avery T. Willis Jr., “Christian discipleship is developing a personal, lifelong, obedient relationship with Jesus Christ in which He transforms your character into Christlikeness, changes your values into Kingdom values, and involves you in His mission in the home, the church, and the world.” The program consists of four six-week studies which involve daily workbook assignments as well as weekly group meetings for accountability. The major components of MasterLife involve developing the following six biblical disciplines: (1) Spending Time with the Master, (2) Living in the Word, (3) Praying in Faith, (4) Fellowshipping with Believers, (5) Witnessing to the World, and (6) Ministering to Others. The foundational scripture for the MasterLife Program is Luke 9:23-“If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily and follow me.”

Currently, new MasterLife sessions begin three times each year: September, January and March.

New Disciples Orientation Class assist new members with church’s DNA (i.e. mission, vision, core values, structure, etc.) This class is designed to provide an understanding and teaching to familiarize new members with First Church and its Christian doctrines.  We share the heart of our Pastor, i.e, making, maturing and multiplying disciples for Christ.  We share what you can expect from us and what we expect from you.

Sunday School promotes spiritual growth in the body of Jesus Christ by providing the saints of God and the unsaved the opportunity to engage in bible study in a less formal atmosphere than Sunday services.  Sunday School lessons are designed to be practical, relevant and engaging.  Students are active participants in the learning process.  Discussions throughout the lessons help to explain the teachings and can be a blessing to others through testimonies.
