First Church is a Fresh Farm Markets’ gleaner.  At the end of the market day every Saturday from April to November a member of the ministry collects unsold food, such as fresh fruits and vegetables.  With this partnership we are able to provide FREE fresh food to the community.  Annually Fresh Farm Markets partners with us to provide Thanksgiving Day gift baskets to families in need.

The First Church Puppet Ministry is a powerful and effective teaching and evangelistic tool that allows us to communicate Biblical truths in a non-threatening way to people of all ages.  Through puppet ministry, we are able to teach the Word of God, spread the Word of God, give God glory, and have fun like Jesus who used humor in HIS teachings.  We minister during our worship services, Vacation Bible School, at shelters block parties, on the streets, and anywhere the Lord JESUS leads us to minister.

Sister Ernestine Jones, Ministry Leader

The Ministry of Hope’s was formed to reflect Christ’s love by serving patients, caregivers, and their families with tangible assistance and spiritual support by providing: prayer and sharing the Good News, group support, transportation, housecleaning/lawn work, grocery shopping and meal preparation (during chemo/radiation treatments), etc. Our goal is to help our brothers/sisters to cope with the devastating effects that a chronic illness diagnosis can cause to one’s life, while also helping those affected, to trust God and not to fear the disease. We believe that God has called us to respond to His people, and offer HOPE in JESUS CHRIST to those in need.
